Why You Can't Rely On The Law Given To Moses

Isaiah 53:4-6 KJV
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
I keep coming across people who don't believe that was Jesus did on the cross was enough, and think that we have to do the work. Some of these people that I have encountered believe that we have to adhere to the law that was given to Moses by God. And some of these people rely more heavily on the Old Testament than the New Testament.
The passage above from Isaiah 53 sums it up perfectly: that God laid the sins of the world upon Jesus, and that through Him we are given our peace and reconciliation to God.
There is NOTHING you can do in order to earn salvation other than to BELIEVE that Jesus died for our sins, was buried, and was resurrected on the third day!
Paul said this:
Romans 3:20 KJV
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
There is ABSOLUTELY NO PLAN OR METHOD FOR SALVATION IN THE LAW!
Paul also said this:
Romans 5:20-21 KJV
20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: 21 That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.
And I think this passage from Ezekiel may be tied in here:
Ezekiel 20:24-25 KJV
24 Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers' idols. 25 Wherefore I gave them also statutes that were not good, and judgments whereby they should not live;
The law was given to give knowledge of sin, and through that knowledge to show people they could not be justified. The law was intended to lead us to Jesus Christ.
So PLEASE STOP RELYING ON THE LAW because it will be your downfall.
