Not Everyone That Says To Me “Lord, Lord….”

I have seen several posts lately of people saying that Matthew 7:21-23 is about people who rely on their works for their salvation.

What I see is Jesus is speaking about Holy Spirit filled believers here. Authentic prophecy comes from God through the Holy Spirit. Miracles come from God by the power of the Holy Spirit. Demons are cast out by the power of God through the Holy Spirit. Non believers cannot do these things because they are not filled with the Holy Spirit.

So then, I see that this passage refers to the church who think they are in right standing with God, but whose hearts are not fully with Jesus; those who don’t have a strong relationship with Him, and the reason why I state this is because of the word “knew.” To know someone there is implied intimacy, a strong relationship. And I believe that the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:18-23, John 15:1-6, and Revelation 3:15-16 further solidify this.
