It Seems Like Madness…But It’s Not

It seems like madness that Jesus, the Son of God who is also God created us. It seems like madness that He stepped down from heaven to become a human man, to live in poverty, as a servant, to teach, to minister, to heal, to resurrect dead people, to give sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, to heal people who couldn’t speak, to heal those who couldn’t walk, and to cast out demons. It seems like madness that He lived a perfect life, committed no sin, and fulfilled the levitical law that we could not fulfill. It seems like madness that He allowed Himself to be betrayed, arrested, falsely accused, persecuted, mocked, hated, slapped and punched, spit on, have a crown of thorns beaten into His forehead, be beaten, bruised, crushed, flayed, flogged, whipped, scourged, and completely marred beyond recognition, forced to carry a heavy cross (with help) in that state, stripped of His clothes, nailed to a cross, lifted up, and left to die a slow, agonizing, painful death by suffocation while He took all of our sin and shame upon Him, becoming sin itself, and bearing God’s wrath for us. It seems like madness that He begged the Father to forgive them because they didn’t realize what they were doing. It seems like utter madness that He never comdemned anyone, and that through most of that ordeal he was mostly silent. It seems like madness that He reconciled us to Him and to the Father, and gave us peace with them. It seems like madness that He was resurrected on the third day and that He is very much alive, seated in glory in heaven at the right hand of the Father waiting for all His enemies to be made into His footstool. It seems like utter madness that He defeated sin and death. It seems like utter madness that those who believe in Him by faith, love Him, and obey Him are freed from the curse of sin and death, and are promised to share in His victory, to have eternal life and to spend eternity with Him in heaven. It seems like utter madness that He loves us so much when we clearly don’t deserve it that He would give everything in order to redeem and save us.

It all seems like utter madness, but every bit of it is the 100% truth. Jesus IS real, and you truly want to find Him, and search for Him, He will reveal Himself to you. Even though He’s currently invisible to us, He’s not hiding. It is His earnest wish and desire that all would come to Him and receive the free gift of salvation that cost Him such a heavy price. He loves you more than you can ever fathom or know.

Will you accept His offer?
