God Never Leaves You

"God Left Me A Long Time Ago"

God is everywhere. When times are hard we get frustrated, and that's understandable. Rarely do we ever understand why we have to go through some of the things we experience in our lives. It is in those hard, frustrating times that we need to continue to stay close to God. He has a purpose in everything.

In their frustration, some people think that God left them, and they give up on Him. The problem with this line of thinking is that it is unbiblical.

Psalm 34:18 says: The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

Psalm 9:9 says: The LORD will also be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Deuteronomy 31:8 says: And the LORD is the one who is going ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not desert you or abandon you. Do not fear and do not be dismayed.

Hebrews 13:5 says: 5 Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever abandon you.”

James 4:8 says: Come close to God and He will come close to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Matthew 28:19-20 says: Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

There are plenty of other examples I could cite.

The point is, if there is any distance between you and God, and if there is any strain in your relationship with Him, it isn't His fault but yours. God is always faithful to His people. So if you're feeling like God is far away, you've got some work to do. Call upon His name and seek His face, and you will find Him.
