The Perilous Times Have Come

2 Timothy 3:1-7 KJV

1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The culture of our world is so lacking in love. Not only are people only looking out for their own interests, they’ll lie, cheat, steal, kill, and oppress others to get what they want. And this mentality is celebrated. 😢 We are encouraged to be rude, to be cutthroats, to be merciless, to be heartless, and to be proud of it, which is evil because it’s completely outside of God’s will.

None of the things people are seeking in this world matters. The only one who can satisfy every desire and need is Jesus Christ, and yet this world wants nothing to do with Him. Rather, the world wants to do everything their own way, not His.

When we stand before Jesus we’re all going to wish we had pursued Him more, that we had helped others more, been more kind, and compassionate, and merciful, more focused on others than on ourselves. And when we stand in front of Jesus it will be too late.

2 Corinthians 6:2 KJV

2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Repent. Turn away from the world and turn to Jesus while you can. Stop chasing and idolizing money, fame, cars, clothes, partners, houses, gadgets, politics, entertainment and fun, sex, drugs, and whatever else you’re chasing and seek the Lord while He may be found. Your time to choose is running out.
