People tell you not to pray for patience because then you'll be sent opportunities and situations where you will have to be patient. But it is through patience that we learn endurance, exercise hope, build and strengthen faith, learn how to deny ourselves, display great love, and are sometimes refined through suffering.
In impatience there is an absence of love, grace, humility, peace, selflessness, and kindness, but an abundance of pride, anger, intolerance, unkindness, greed, lust, and satisfaction of our flesh.
Patience and love go hand in hand. This is what the Lord revealed to me during prayer today (2/28/2023). Without love there can be no patience. Without patience there can be no mercy. Without mercy there can be no forgiveness. Without forgiveness there can be no redemption. Without redemption there can be no reconciliation. Without reconciliation there can be no healing. Without healing we can never be whole.
So I say pray for patience. Pray also to be filled with God's love. Let Jesus do His perfect work in you and in your life.
James 1:2-4 KJV
2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Romans 5:3-6 KJV
3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope:
5 And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
6 For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
1 Timothy 6:11-12 KJV
11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.
6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
