2 Corinthians 6:2-3
2 for He says,
“AT A FAVORABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON A DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU.”
Behold, now is “A FAVORABLE TIME,” behold, now is “A DAY OF SALVATION”—
You have an amazing opportunity being made available to you!
See, God says:
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
God also says:
Romans 3:23
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
So we are all sinners which means we're all unrighteous, and that means that all of us cannot inherit the kingdom of God. That means we can't be let into heaven based on anything that we ourselves can do. That means we're destined to spend eternity in hell forever separated from God.
That's really bad news.
Romans 6:23
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Through Jesus Christ we may have eternal life and spend eternity in heaven with God.
God has dealt with our sin (iniquity), because He sent His only Son to receive the wrath, punishment, and judgment we were destined to receive so that we may be reconciled to God.
Isaiah 53:5-6
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
1 Corinthians 15:1-8
1 Now I make known to you, brothers and sisters, the gospel which I preached to you, which you also received, in which you also stand, 2 by which you also are saved, if you hold firmly to the word which I preached to you, unless you believed in vain.
3 For I handed down to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that He appeared to Cephas (Peter), then to the twelve. 6 After that He appeared to more than five hundred brothers and sisters at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 7 then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles; 8 and last of all, as to one untimely born, He appeared to me also.
John 3:16-21
16 “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.18 The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. 19 And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the Light; for their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light, so that his deeds will not be exposed. 21 But the one who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds will be revealed as having been performed in God.”
Ephesians 2:8-9
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
So how can you be saved?
Romans 10:9-10
9 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10 for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
Romans 10:13
13 for “EVERYONE WHO FALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
If you'd like to take God up on His offer, pray to Jesus Christ, tell Him you believe He is Lord, that you believe He died for our sins and was resurrected on the third day, ask Him to forgive and save you, and to live in your heart and give you the Holy Spirit to help you live the life He wants you to live.
This is the most important choice you will ever make, and I hope you will take God up on His offer.
