Dear Christian, Don’t Compare Your Walk To Others’

Dear Christian,

You are unique, and one of a kind. God’s plan for you is carefully tailored specifically to you. You have your own talents, strengths, weaknesses, flaws, shortcomings, personality, experiences, failures, successes, and spiritual gifts.

Your salvation is so specially unique to you. Your relationship with Jesus is also exquisitely special and unique from everyone else’s.

Please don’t compare your walk with Jesus to the walk of others’. Don’t compare your faith to others’. Don’t compare your works to others’. God’s plan and mission for you is different than the plan and mission He has for others, so if you’re constantly sizing yourself up against everyone else then you are only creating your own doubt, confusion, anxiety, and insecurities, feeding into your own fears, limiting your potential, and holding yourself back, and that is not how God wants you to live. Please also don’t let others compare you to others. Just be who you are as your identity is in Jesus Christ, and let Him lead you on your path.

You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and in Christ, you are standing in victory. Put on the full armor of God and trust in Him, for He us faithful and He will finish the good work He began in you. Whatever you do, do for the glory of God.
