Are You Really Christ’s?
Galatians 5:24 KJV
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Can you HONESTLY say, you who profess that Jesus is your Lord, that this statement verse describes you?
At any time before, during, or after you said the sinner’s prayer, did you actually feel and show remorse for the things you did that you know were wrong?
Were any changes made in your life, your habits, your thoughts and opinions, your lifestyle, your relationships, etc. that show that Jesus Christ made an impact on you? Or did you just keep going on with your life doing all the same things that you did before?
If you just kept doing what you did before you probably haven’t truly repented, are living in the flesh amd not the Spirit, and you really need to examine whether you were actually saved or whether you thought you were saved.
Too many people have created their own version of jesus and worship that idol over the true Jesus of the bible.
So I ask you, what fruit does your life display?
Why am I asking you this?
Matthew 7:21-23 KJV
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
☝️☝️☝️☝️ That’s why. Verse 23 are the most terrifying words you could ever hear.
Does your life look anything like these next two passages?
1 Corinthians 6:9-10 KJV
9 Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:19-21
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Whoah, wait! What? I can say the sinner’s prayer and call Jesus Lord, but there’s a chance I could still not make it to heaven?
Yes! I’ve already given you scripture that supports this. But there’s more; there’s also the parable of the 10 virgins.
Matthew 25:1-13 KJV
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. 2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. 3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: 4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. 5 While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. 6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. 7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. 8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. 9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Someone asked Jesus if only few would be saved.
Luke 13:23-27 KJV
23 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, 24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 26 Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. 27 But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.
And Jesus said the way to destruction is broad and many go that way. He also said the way to life is narrow and that few find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 KJV
13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
If you want to be saved, you need to love, honor, worship, and obey the REAL Jesus Christ of the bible, not the worldly idol you made to serve your own interests. You need to repent and turn away from sin. You need to stop thinking that God would never send anyone to hell. You need to stop thinking that saying the sinner’s prayer was enough. You need to read your bible daily. You need to spend time in prayer daily, building a relationship with Jesus. And you need to make some changes in your life. Know, friend that it will be hard, but God calls is to be in the world but not of it. He calls us to be holy, because He is holy.
Hebrews 12:14 KJV
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Leviticus 20:7 KJV
7 Sanctify yourselves therefore, and be ye holy: for I am the LORD your God.
Leviticus 20:26 KJV
26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
1 Peter 1:16 KJV
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
For any of this to be possible, you need to ask to be baptized with the Holy Spirit, who will help you to have the discipline, restraint, and self control to make the changes you need to make. It’s impossible to do it on your own, on your own terms, and in your own way, because sin resides in our flesh.
Once you’ve repented and truly given your heart to Jesus, you will make mistakes because you’re human. I myself made a BIG ONE yesterday. That’s where God’s grace comes to play. But God’s grace doesn’t mean you get to continue on in willful, deliberate sin. Jesus didn’t die on the cross for you so you can keep doing that.
1 John 1:8-10 KJV
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.
My dearest hope and wish, friend, is that this will convict you to change. I hope this makes you uncomfortable, because then it means that God spoke through me. The truth is best when it’s not sugar-coated, and I would be doing you a disservice if I only gave you sunshine, rainbows, and happiness. The false prophets of Israel did that, and what happened? Jerusalem was destroyed and its inhabitants were taken captive to Babylon.
