Romans 6:1-6 KJV
1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
1 Peter 1:13-16 KJV
13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
14 As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
Lord, thank you for your amazing and abundant grace, and mercy. Thank you for forgiving me, a sinner, for my many sins and trespasses against you. Help me please to do better, and to be better. Guide me in my thoughts, my words, and my actions through the power of your Holy Spirit. Please lead me away from all temptation. Go before me and make my paths straight. Work through me and speak through me, Lord. Help me to glorify you in all that I do and say.
I know there will be times Lord that I may stumble in weakness, and if I do, then I ask you for your forgiveness and I thank you for your grace. But I ask you also, Lord, to help me not to abuse your grace. Help me to identify the things in my life that are negative influences and to remove them so that I don't succumb to temptation. Please also remove from me what is not pleasing to you.
Thank you, Lord, for hearing and answering my prayer.
In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen
